As your tour operator we respect your investment and want to make sure that you are protected when booking your holiday.

We therefore include complimentary financial protection in every booking which is provided to Icon Expeditions by Guardrisk (rated AA for its claims paying ability). They are the largest specialist insurer in South Africa. The cover provided by them has been arranged with Alexander Forbes - the largest short-term insurance broker in South Africa.

Icon Expeditions is therefore protected against financial loss as a result of insolvency by our suppliers (such as lodges, hotels, guest houses etc). Consequently you as the client are also protected.

This financial protection covers all aspects of your travel package booked with Icon Expeditions and is included in each booking completely free of charge. You do not get this cover if you book direct.

This is in addition to being an accredited SATSA member. SATSA stands for the Southern Africa Tourism Services Association, and through our membership it testifies that we have a financial guarantee in place to cover monetary deposits lodged with us in advance of services to be rendered. It is important to note that this financial protection is not travel insurance. You will have to make sure that you are appropriately covered against cancellation fees and curtailment costs in case of medical reasons preventing you from travelling. In addition you need to make sure that you have adequate medical cover in case of emergency. Icon Expeditions offers travel insurance to clients, which can be booked below through TIC (Travel Insurance Consultants).
