A private game reserve and winner of many accolades, the Relais & Chateaux Londolozi Private Game Reserve has five luxury lodges.
Londolozi Tree Camp has recently been rebuilt - a romantic retreat surrounded by ancient ebony trees and overlooking the Sand River, the six suites, which have all doubled in size have thatched roofs, screed finishes and private decks with plunge pools; outdoor showers and private salas add to the romance.
The main lodge is a comfortable living area in the classic safari style opening onto a massive open deck - which too was extended in March 2007. The new public areas are surrounded by an ebony tree and benefits from its generous shade.
Londolozi is a well-respected conservation and eco-tourism destination that owes much of its fame to the vision and practices of top ecologists. The leopards in the region take most of the spotlight but there are plenty of additional highlights.
The game reserve traverses 17,000 hectares and offers some of the best leopard sightings in Africa as well as close encounters with lion, spotted hyena and excellent birding opportunities. Besides the big names, a full spectrum of African wildlife parades through the Sand River and surrounding uplands.
Inclusive activities are two daily game drives with a professional guide and experienced tracker; interpretive walking safaris and cultural Shangaan walks. A must-do if for your client is the specialist leopard safari where they will track and observe the most elusive and beguiling of the big cats.
